Back to Health A to Z. According to Dr Anne MacGregor , formerly of the National Migraine Centre , more than half of women who get migraines notice a link with their periods. This is because of the natural drop in oestrogen levels at these times. It's worth keeping a diary for at least 3 menstrual cycles to help you check whether your migraines are linked to your periods. The Migraine Trust has an online headache diary , which may be a useful tool.

What Is A ‘Period Cold’ And Is It A Myth?
Ear tubes are tiny tubes made of metal or plastic. During ear tube surgery, a small hole is made in the eardrums and the tubes are inserted. The opening to the middle ear the area behind the eardrum lets air flow in and out. This keeps air pressure even between the middle ear and the outside, and helps to drain fluid that builds up behind the eardrum. Most kids won't need surgery to have a tube taken out later. Ear tubes usually fall out on their own, pushed out as the eardrum heals. Ear tubes are also called tympanostomy tubes, myringotomy tubes, ventilation tubes, or pressure equalization PE tubes.

In the week or so leading up to your period, you may feel particularly under the weather, with a runny nose, body aches, nausea, and flu like symptoms just before menstruation. While you might chalk this up to allergies or a funny coincidence, it could actually be linked to your monthly cycle. People may also feel more fatigued than normal on their period, especially late in the afternoon when their blood sugar drops. Additional symptoms of period sickness include dizziness, loss of appetite and sensitivity to light.
